Health Challenge:  Post-partum recovery, digestion issues and weight concerns.

What happened?

After giving birth, Kirsty was navigating post-partum recovery alongside ongoing digestive issues and weight concerns. She had always taken an interest in healthy eating, but despite her efforts, certain issues particularly around bloating, discomfort, and weight persisted.

At that stage, she wasn’t looking for another plan or set of rules. She wanted to understand what her body needed during a period where energy and capacity were already stretched.

The Shift.

As part of Geno 3’s pilot group, Kirsty explored her DNA insights alongside a broader view of her health and lifestyle.

What stood out wasn’t new information, but clearer context. Instead of general advice, she began to understand which nutritional areas were more relevant for her, and which foods and habits might be contributing to how she was feeling.

For the first time, the picture felt personal rather than prescriptive.  With that clarity, Kirsty made adjustments that felt realistic for post-partum life. She focused on diversifying her plant intake to better support her nutrient needs, while reducing foods that didn’t suit her as well, including those containing gluten and lactose.

Rather than following a rigid approach, the changes were gradual and adaptable, all designed to fit around daily life, recovery and family.

How it felt.

The sense of personal fit made all the difference.

Kirsty felt more confident that the habits she was building were aligned with her individual needs, rather than borrowed from generic advice.

This confidence made it easier to stay consistent, without the cycle of second-guessing or frustration she’d experienced before.

Where are things now?

Over time, Kirsty noticed improvements in her digestion and comfort, alongside gradual, sustainable weight changes, losing over a stone in weight.

More importantly, she felt clearer about how to support her body long term especially during demanding days and weeks juggling heath, family, career, married and social life.

The biggest shift wasn’t just physical. It was the confidence that came from finally understanding what worked for her.
